Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Pharr, TX is seeking a junior cashier to provide friendly, efficient checkout service, process transactions, maintain the counter, and support overall store operations.

You'll learn POS systems, handle cash and payments, greet customers, scan items, bag purchases, answer questions, and keep the checkout area tidy. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; TX TABC certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to learn POS systems and operate cash register.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
• Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
• Issue receipts and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Bag or package customer purchases as needed.
• Answer customer inquiries and assist with product selection.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Stock and replenish supplies at the checkout counter.
• Adhere to all company policies regarding cash handling and security.
• Assist with other store tasks as assigned, such as stocking shelves or cleaning.
• Resolve customer complaints and elevate issues to management when necessary.
• Promote store promotions and loyalty programs.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Job Purpose: To provide friendly, efficient, and accurate service to customers while processing transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and supporting the overall store operations.

Additional Duties

Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations. Employees will be provided with proper training and protective equipment for any and all assigned tasks that require special handling.

Qualifications

Preferred Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience

• Cash handling experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to operate a cash register and other point-of-sale equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.

Required Certifications

• Texas Alcohol Food Beverage Commission(TABC) (required)
