Job description

The Convenience Store Cashier is responsible for providing friendly, efficient customer service while accurately handling sales transactions. This role supports daily store operations by maintaining a clean, well‑stocked environment and ensuring a positive experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and courteously
• Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system accurately for cash, credit, and debit transactions
• Handle cash responsibly, including making change and balancing the cash drawer
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, restrooms, and work areas
• Monitor inventory levels and report low or out‑of‑stock items
• Follow all store policies, safety procedures, and loss‑prevention guidelines
• Verify age requirements for tobacco, alcohol, or lottery sales (where applicable)
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
