Job summary

Kroger in Ridgeland, MS is hiring for a cashier/ checker to provide outstanding customer service at the checkout. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include handling multiple payment types, following loss prevention rules, staying updated on promotions, and maintaining a safe environment for customers and teammates.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow procedures for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety programs.
• Assist customers and maintain a welcoming environment.
