Job summary

Mac’s Steak in the Rough, part of Fresquez Companies, is seeking a friendly Cashier/Crew Member in Albuquerque to greet guests, take orders, and process payments with a positive attitude. You may work at the counter, drive-thru, or car hop, contributing to a fast, accurate, and enjoyable guest experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a positive, helpful attitude and work well with other team members.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with questions to create a welcoming experience.

Our cashiers are the face of Mac’s! Whether you're greeting guests at the counter, helping customers in the drive-thru, serving as a car hop, or answering the phone, you help create the friendly, welcoming experience our guests know and love.

• Make Someone’s Day! Greet every guest with a smile, take orders, answer questions, and make each customer feel welcome.
• Be a Menu Pro! Learn our Mac’s favorites, help guests choose their next craving, and make recommendations with confidence.
• Keep Things Moving! Fill drinks, process payments, assemble orders, and make sure guests receive everything they need.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

Answer guest questions regarding menu, pricing, and other related questions.

Operate a cash register.

Accept payment via cash, credit card, or gift card/certificate and make change when appropriate.

Balance cash drawer and open and close according to restaurant and cash handling procedures.

Calculate appropriate discounts to determine price.

Maintain appropriate portion control according to Fresquez standards.

Wrap or bag food for guests.

Take and complete drink orders for guests.

Food preparation.

Maintain proper food handling standards.

Stocks restaurant and lobby area as needed.

Maintain restaurant cleanliness.

Other duties as required or assigned.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a busy restaurant environment. This role routinely uses a cash register, handles cash, restaurant equipment and appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals. Noise level is moderate to loud.

This position requires constant standing. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is an hourly position. Scheduled hours vary by restaurant needs, including necessary adjustments made during high and low seasonal changes. Typical days and hours of work for this position are Monday-Sunday 4am-10pm or later (varying shifts). Other days/hours and holidays required as needed or assigned.

Required Experience:

Cashier, cashier handling, or crew member experience.

Knowledge and understanding of relevant food safety and sanitation laws, principles, procedures, and practices.

Ability to read and comprehend primary language spoken at the work location.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug screening.

Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.

Satisfactory completion of a background check in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business rules and technical procedures.

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate information and respond to questions from management and team members.

Other (Secondary) Responsibilities:

Assist with other restaurant functions including other assigned duties as needed. Must be able to fill in as needed.
