Our location at California Baptist University in Riverside, CA, is currently looking to build our Food Service Team in the position of Cashier.

Summary

Responsible for receiving money in the form of cash, check, or credit card from customer or employees in exchange for food or services. Scans items, provides change, balances drawer, and processes card transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Computes or recomputes bill, itemized lists, and ticket voucher showing amount due.
• Makes change and issues receipts or tickets to customers.
• Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.
• Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.
• Quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received.
• Respond to customers’ complaints and take necessary action to resolve their issues.
• Operates cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; pulling or pushing stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
