Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a professional to perform accounting and financial support functions within Shared Services, Cash Management. The role balances and deposits funds generated from UNC Healthcare services, following UNCHCS policies and HIPAA guidelines.

The position reports to an administrative supervisor and handles data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation, with opportunities to train new locations and support Epic users through MySupport.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a cashier or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• None required as long as other position qualifications are met.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily operational or processing guidance to employees in other clinics/practices when necessary.
• Prepares funds for bank deposit and makes deposit.
• Processes payments, refunds, deposits, and check requests. Issues receipts.
• Provides back-end reconciliation of transactions completed, ensuring funds received balance with receipts issued.
• Manages a group within the MySupport system to assist Epic users.
• Provides training to new practice locations.
• Records transactions on appropriate account record and ensures regulatory/compliance documentation is accurate.

Summary

Performs professional level accounting and business functions. Incumbents work under the general direction of an administrative supervisor, independently handling a wide variety of accounting support activities. This position is responsible for the handling, balancing, and deposit funds, generated from providing UNC Healthcare services, complying with UNCHCS corporate policies, departmental policies, HIPAA and regulatory agency guidelines.

1. Analyzes and interprets data, reports, etc. and makes recommendations based upon results of analysis. Formats reports in tables for the purpose of explaining and supporting financial standings or operational decisions.
2. Communicates and interprets results of data analysis and/or makes recommendations to other UNCHCS staff.
3. Maintains and reviews various databases of financial information as received from various sources throughout the Health Care System. Analyzes and ensures integrity of data.

Responsibilities
