Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages, and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to established policies.
  • Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
