Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons following established policies.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products throughout the store.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
