Responsibilities include:
- Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
- Understanding and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
- Adhering to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
- Following guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
- Reporting pricing discrepancies and following policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Maintaining equipment and notifying management of repairs.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
- Complying with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflicts professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
- Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
- Supporting customers with special needs, including minors, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
