Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with product questions across the store.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Operate with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
