Job Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Handle postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons according to established policies.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Promote safety by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report any issues.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by assisting with questions about products and store services.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
