Job Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at the check lane.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons, following company policies.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated with current and upcoming promotions and advertisements.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and assisting with product inquiries.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a respectful and cooperative manner.
  • Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
