Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Greet, engage, and assist customers actively as a Cashier/Checker.
  2. Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
  3. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and loyalty offers per company policy.
  4. Maintain honesty and control loss by adhering to cash handling limits.
  5. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  6. Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads.
  7. Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions.
  8. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs.
  9. Create a welcoming environment, answer product questions.
  10. Comply with all laws and company policies.
  11. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment, managing conflict appropriately.
  12. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  13. Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  14. Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  15. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
