Reports To : Front of House Manager / General Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Customer Service : Greet guests as they enter the restaurant, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Assist customers with their orders, assist with payments, answer questions about the menu, and ensure a positive guest experience.
- Transaction Processing : Accurately process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, ensuring all transactions are completed efficiently and correctly.
- Order Management : Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are communicated accurately and delivered promptly. Provide customers with order status updates and assist with any special requests.
- Product Knowledge : Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, dietary restrictions, and promotions.
- Cash Handling : Manage the cash drawer, follow all cash handling procedures and report any discrepancies to the manager.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance : Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Ensure that all guest-facing areas are tidy and presentable.
- Support to Other Areas : Assist with other front-of-house duties as needed, including seating guests, running food, and bussing tables during busy periods.
- Health and Safety Compliance : Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and hygiene practices. Adhere to all company policies regarding safety and cleanliness.
- Company Policies : Adhere to all company guidelines and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, including health standards, conduct, and safety procedures.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain superior attendance and punctuality, ensuring you are ready to assist customers and support the team.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, management, and other staff members to ensure a smooth operation.
- Handle any customer inquiries or complaints with professionalism and escalate issues to the manager as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Work Environment : Busy restaurant environment with moderate noise levels and varying guest traffic.
- Skills : Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Experience : Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not required. Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems are a plus.
