Job summary

Columbia Dining Services in the Uris Building is hiring a Cashier for a 35-hour workweek in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

The cashier will handle cash and card transactions, set up the register, and balance the till at shift end, with duties supervised under the local union framework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months related experience required.
• Ability to calculate and operate cash register.

Responsibilities

• Set up cash register with sufficient change obtained from supervisor.
• Calculate the cost of items purchased by customer and enter on register (Cash or charge).
• Collect cash and make change. Collect cards for charge customers and scan on register.
• At the end of the shift, clear register and record the cash received and hand over cash to supervisor with bank.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management personnel.

Position Summary

Columbia Dining Services is a dynamic, progressive department in an exciting, fun environment with a customer‑focused culture. We have an immediate opening for a Cashier. The cashier performs routine work under immediate supervision that involves calculation, receipt, and custody of cash and charge purchases.
