The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Part-time Cashier in the ARC – Adult Rehabilitation Center.
Assists store customers in selecting and purchasing items. Operates and maintains a cash register; collects monies, counts change, and prepares receipts; balances the cash register drawer and prints routine register reports; prepares and delivers bank deposits. Responds to customer questions and assists customers who are donating items. Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of merchandise and displays. Ensures the neatness and security of the cash register area; secures merchandise and cash. Cleans display racks and shelves; sweeps and mops floors; cleans windows and mirrors; and helps maintain overall store cleanliness. Answers the store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner.
Knowledge of effective customer service techniques. Knowledge of basic mathematics principles and practices. Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Experience working in retail is preferred or any equivalent training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to operate a cash register and answer the telephone. Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change accurately and timely. Physical effort includes sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling (75-100% of work time). May include carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects less than 50 lbs. (25-50% of work time).
