Job Title: General Store Cashier / Stocker
Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities:
- Greet and inform customers, provide excellent service.
- Establish or identify prices of goods and apply price stickers.
- Scan or key in merchandise prices, determine total prices.
- Assist in developing window and counter displays under supervision.
- Keep stock rooms organized and clean.
- Interact professionally and friendly with customers.
- Encourage sales and promote the Memphis experience.
- Be knowledgeable about sister venues such as Blues City Café, Club 152 on Beale, etc.
- Check inventory upon receiving merchandise, invoice, and confirm shipments.
- Handle cash and credit transactions honestly and professionally.
- Control and check outgoing merchandise, reconcile payments, and prepare deposits.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in checkout areas, stock rooms, and store.
- Participate in inventory counts and perform other related duties.
- Prioritize workload, stay calm and focused, and be versatile as needed.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills, strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with management and staff, make quick decisions.
- Manage multiple tasks in high-paced, stressful environments while remaining calm.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, lift, and carry items.
- Manual dexterity for computer and office equipment operation.
- Business acumen to connect duties to business results.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Flexible with shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Basic math skills and experience with cash register/POS systems.
- Proactively address guest requests and concerns with care and fairness.
- Organized in storage, displays, and stock areas.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to speak, hear, see clearly, and distinguish colors.
- Frequent walking, standing, and extended walking distances.
- Lift/carry up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Use manual dexterity and motor skills frequently, reach, kneel, and stoop as needed.
