Job summary

Homeland Stores in Oklahoma is seeking a friendly Food Clerk-Cashier for part-time hourly work. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and ring up items with care in a fast-paced environment.

You must handle cash accurately, manage coupons and vouchers, bag orders promptly, and uphold store safety. This role reports to the Front-End Manager and supports the team with a positive customer-first attitude.

Qualifications

• Greeting customers and assisting at checkout.
• Accurate operation of cash register, scanner, and scale.
• Handling coupons, WIC, checks, and other vouchers.
• Maintaining store safety and reporting hazards.
• Basic math and money handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and ring out customers politely.
• Process purchases quickly and accurately using POS equipment.
• Clean register area and manage bagging.
• Protect against loss by proper product handling and coupon validation.
• Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Apply here today!Oklahomans Feeding Oklahomans.Food Clerk-CashierPart Time – HourlyPrimary responsibilitiesGreet, assist, and ring out all customers politelyTo process customer purchases quickly and accurately by the operation of an electronic cash register, scanner and scaleTo clean register area by sweeping floors, cleaning check lanes, registers and scalesTo prevent loss of money and merchandise by careful product handling, completion of price, correct identification of produce, counting of money, and accurately using store procedures for the acceptance of coupons, WIC and other vouchers, checks, credit and debit cardsTo assure the safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediatelyTo bag customer purchases quickly and correctlyTo understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of an electronic cash register, scanner, scale and intercom system.To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Cashiers (food clerks) report directly to the Front-End Manager or Store Manager.QualificationsAbove and Beyond Customer ServiceBasic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)High School Diploma or EquivalentPrior Experience in related field or industrySpecific tasksStanding capability, 4 hours minimumMove a maximum of 40 lbs. from 6 inches to 48 inches.Move a maximum of 40 lbs. up to 15 feet.Pick up items from floor/case/shelf/cart.Retrieve merchandise on the top of grocery shelves, approximately 84 inches from the floor.Bend and twist at the waist while cleaning, moving/removing merchandise and loading/unloading merchandise.Work Environment Note:Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from opening of store entrance/exit doors.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
