Position Summary

The Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions through the POS registers. They perform various customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and courteously, and handling merchandise with care.

Essential Functions

1. Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service, ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
2. Approaches all customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
3. Maintains product knowledge and awareness of advertised sales.
4. Stocks and straightens shelves and pegs in the immediate area when not ringing up products.
5. Provides a legendary customer experience by assisting in making buying decisions, including:
   1. Identifying and evaluating customer needs,
   2. Making product recommendations based on this analysis,
   3. Promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to calculate discounts and make change accurately.
• Effective communication skills in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Proficiency in operating a computerized POS system.

• Constant standing and walking during shifts.
• Occasional use of ladders, stairs, and ramps.
• Frequent communication with others.
• Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Occasional work in low/high temperatures and outdoor elements.
• Light work involving lifting objects up to 20 pounds constantly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds with team lift assistance.

Independent Judgment

Performs tasks under general supervision, using established procedures and judgment to resolve problems. Makes recommendations to improve work procedures, policies, and practices.
