Job summary

Genuine Foods is hiring for a Cashier/Barista to join our school-based team in Garden City, NY. You will deliver Genuine quality customer service, craft beverages to order, and handle cash transactions with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

You will also help maintain food safety, uphold cleanliness, restock as needed, and support teammates. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work in a school setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of food or customer service experience in a high-volume setting.
• Willingness to learn USDA NSLP compliance.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Able to climb stairs and lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work in a school environment.
• Flexible and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Greet and serve customers with Genuine quality service.
• Craft drinks to order with care and accuracy.
• Ring up guests at the cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Ensure food safety standards are followed.
• Provide Great customer service following Genuine standards.
• Maintain a clean working environment and assist with cleaning duties.
• Restock areas as needed, following FIFO rotation.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Provide Genuine quality customer service with all clienteles by greeting, thanking, etc.
• Craft drinks to order with care and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible & team-oriented!
• 1 year of food or customer service experience/training in a mid-high volume food service facility or restaurant.
• Willingness to learn the compliance requirements of the USDA National School Lunch Program.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level headedness.
• Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
• Able to climb stairs and lift up 50 lbs.
• Interest in and committed to Genuine Foods’ mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies and happiness.
• Must be able to work in a school environment.
