Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special advertisements.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Support safety programs by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering product questions.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
