Job summary

SA Recycling LLC in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Cashier to process payments for scrap-metal purchases and to assist customers with pricing, materials accepted, and account inquiries. You will balance the cash drawer, generate invoices, and support related office functions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while delivering excellent customer service and handling multiple tasks.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn industry-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Process all records and documentation for payment of purchased scrap metal.
• Calculate daily transactions using computerized systems and balance cash drawer daily.
• Generate invoices, itemized lists and tickets; verify weights, prices and totals.
• Assist customers with pricing questions and material types; maintain customer accounts.
• Provide relief/work with Office Assistant and Weighmaster as needed.
• Support monthly closing reporting and inventory reconciliation.

Responsibilities of a Cashier:

• Complete all required records and documentation for payment of purchased scrap metal into the proper systems.
• Calculate daily transactions using computerized programs and balance cash drawer at the end of the day.
• Generate invoices, itemize lists and tickets noting materials and amounts due, verify weights, prices, and extensions.
• Assist current and potential customers with questions regarding the pricing of materials, the types of materials accepted, and maintenance of customer accounts.
• Provide relief and/or backup duties for the Office Assistant and Weighmaster.
• Assists with monthly closing reporting, and with inventory reconciliation as needed.

Qualifications for the Cashier

• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
