Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
  • Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures in line with company policies.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with questions about products throughout the store.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information.
  • Follow instructions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
