Pioneer Crossing in Dayton is looking for a Cage Cashier!

Cage Cashiers are responsible for cash handling in the cage and must be able to adhere to and follow Nevada State Gaming Control and in-house casino policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Count in and balance cash drawer, using cage count sheet
• Complete sales transactions for cigarettes and other items
• Cash out Casino tickets for guests
• Add Free Play to Player’s Cards as needed
• Sign up and issue guests Player’s Cards
• Achieve company objectives in customer service by ensuring that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
• Cash Sports Book tickets if the Sports Book is closed
• Pay out all jackpots to the manager on duty
• Conducts an inventory of all cash and its equivalents
• Answers incoming calls and transfer calls as needed
• Be knowledgeable of and able to explain/promote all Casino and Marketing events

Requirements

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Previous cashier experience in a casino environment preferred

Language Ability:

• Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written English language

Math Ability:

• Excellent math skills; ability to calculate money accurately

Certificates and Licenses:

• Gaming Registration Card

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Reaching, bending, stretching, lifting up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in a noisy, smoky casino environment
• Ability to work in a small, confined, office-type setting

Knowledge/Skills:

• Excellent organizational abilities
• Ability to handle cash, calculate accurately, analyze, and account for cash and coin
