Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with questions about products throughout the store.
  • Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
