Job summary

Rosewood Market + Deli in Columbia, SC is seeking a friendly cashier to join our team. Start pay is $15.00 per hour with both full-time and part-time options; we close by 8pm Monday–Saturday and 6pm Sunday.

As a cashier, you’ll greet customers, operate the register, and keep the checkout area inviting. We value a warm smile, accuracy, reliability, and a genuine interest in natural foods; training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Prior cash handling or retail experience preferred, but training is provided.
• Strong customer service mindset with a warm, welcoming demeanor.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Dependable and punctual with a can-do attitude.
• Able to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in natural/organic foods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming checkout experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Operate the register accurately and efficiently, handling cash, card, and other payment methods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area at all times
• Bag groceries with care, especially delicate and perishable items
• Answer customer questions and direct them to the right department or team member
• Stay familiar with our products, promotions, and store layout so you can genuinely help
• Support the front end team during peak hours and assist with light stocking or store upkeep as needed
• Communicate through company-designated platforms including Homebase and email
• Treat every customer and co-worker with courtesy, patience, and respect
