Overview of Responsibilities

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company while you process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently while ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service. You will handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change, assist customers with information, and resolve complaints. Your duties include following all front end procedures, stocking shelves, facing and dusting as needed. You will maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, direct customers to product locations, and stay informed about upcoming events and seminars. Maintaining excellent communication with the front end manager and Head Cashier is essential. You are also responsible for keeping checkout areas clean and orderly and executing any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience.
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills.
• Be capable of operating front end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills, be receptive to feedback, and work well in a team.
• Be able to perform repetitive tasks, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Be able to lift/carry items weighing up to 30 lbs., and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, for up to 50 hours.
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and be skilled in cash handling and math.
