Job summary

Augsburg University is seeking an Accountant in Minneapolis to manage daily cash accounting cycles, perform monthly close, journal entries, and reconciliations, and assist with internal reports and budgeting. The role also includes tax filings, audit support, and backup coverage for other accounting duties.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in Accounting or related field with experience in reconciliations, Excel/Word proficiency, and familiarity with ERP environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field or an Associate’s degree with 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with reconciliations is required.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word is required.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile main bank and sub accounts weekly; post journal entries.
• Record cash activity daily; prepare cash flow spreadsheets.
• Assist with monthly close, tax filings, and budgeting processes.
• Provide backup for accounts payable and other accounting duties.
• Support audits and internal management reporting.
• Collaborate with team and maintain accurate records.
