• Post electronic payments from SharePoint Site downloaded from banks.
• Post bad debt payments from collection agencies as assigned.
• Retrieve remittance documents and necessary payment posting information.
• Occasionally contact payer/insurance companies to obtain posting details.
• Read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
• Ensure that all work balances at end of day.
• Work independently on assigned work queues with accuracy.
• Provide exemplary customer service in all interactions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and department heads to optimize processes.

Position Summary:

The Cash Posting Specialist is responsible for the daily posting of payments that come into the Central Billing office.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Education required.

Experience

Prior cash posting experience preferred in a medical setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily batch payments, credit card processing, remote scanning of checks for electronic deposit to bank and hard copy check deposit to local bank and hard copy check deposit to local bank.
• Download daily bank deposit, and save images from banks as assigned
• Posting electronic payments from SharePoint Site that have been downloaded from banks
• Posting any bad debt payments from collection agencies as assignedKnowledge of websites for use in retrieving remittance advice, recoups or necessary documents for payment posting
• Occasional calls to payer/insurance companies to retrieve information for payment posting
• Ability to read Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
• Ensure that all work balances at the end of day
• Knowledge to work independently on assigned work queues
• Provide exemplary customer service in, all interactions
• Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians and department heads
• Effectively utilize strong organizational skills
