Job summary

The Team Lead – Cash Management at the Texas Education Agency oversees critical cash processing, revenue draws, reconciliations, and reporting. You will supervise 1–2 staff and help the team meet deadlines with accuracy, while delivering strong customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

You will report to the Assistant Accounting Director in the Accounting Division and may work a hybrid schedule with in-person days each week. Experience with USAS, CAPPS, and Excel is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience: At least five years of accounting/financial management, including 2 years of cash management for a State of Texas agency and 2 years in USAS. Proficiency with Excel required.
• Substitution: Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Daily Federal Revenue Draws: perform/review daily draws and deposit funds into state treasury.
• Monitor Cash Balances in Appropriations and Funds: ensure appropriate cash balances and entries.
• Other Monthly Cash Activity Tasks: coordinate monthly revenue reconciliations and related cash requests.
• Leading the Cash Management Team: train Revenue Accountants and review their work.
• Annual CMIA and Other Reports: prepare CMIA reports and provide timely customer service.
