Ashtabula Regional Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support the Cash Application team. The role requires posting payments, balancing cash, and ensuring deposits are accurately tracked and reported.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in medical billing or cash balancing, strong communication skills, and proficiency with EPIC or similar systems. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of billing or cash balancing experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Computer system knowledge; EPIC preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare patient accounting and insurance coverage.
• Confidential and good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Proper use of standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day practices of the Cash Application team.
• Monitor 3rd party applications connected to EPIC for variances.
• Identify enrollments to keep EDI automation working with EPIC.
• Work with Finance to report variances to month-end close.
• Ensure all deposits are tracked and accurately posted.
• Timely and accurate posting of payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
• Investigate out of balance remittances.
• Understand third-party billing regulations.
