Job summary

The City of Phoenix Office of Homeless Solutions is seeking creative, data-driven professionals to serve as Caseworker II. This role works with community organizations and police to respond to needs of homeless individuals and families, providing outreach, triage, eligibility determinations, counseling, site visits and follow-up.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of homeless and housing programs, strong computer skills, de-escalation ability, and a team-oriented approach to fast-paced

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in casework management, counseling, working with crime victims, or related activities.
• Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
• Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
• Employees in this classification who are skilled in a second language may be called upon to utilize that skill.

Responsibilities

• Engage with homeless individuals and families, providing outreach and meeting clients where they are.
• Develop and implement casework plans and strategies to help clients achieve self-sufficiency and well-being.
• Assist with emergency shelter, crisis intervention, and resources to develop case plans for independence.
• Support PHX C.A.R.E.S., including education, resources and encampment cleanups.
