Job summary

State of Utah's Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) seeks a Caseworker I or Social Service Worker in Roosevelt, Utah. The role focuses on keeping children with families when safe, assessing needs, connecting resources, and delivering in-home services with professional supervision.

Qualified applicants will have relevant education or work experience in child welfare, a valid Utah driver's license, and the ability to manage a diverse workload in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a background in social work or related field and be able to collaborate with families.
• Experience with children, parents, and/or families or related settings is required.
• Utah driver's license is required for field duties.

Responsibilities

• Investigating reports of abuse, exploitation, and/or neglect and assessing safety, risk, strengths, and barriers.
• Working with families to create safety plans and ongoing services.
• Coordinating and referring services with community resources, placement providers, and courts.
• Supervising visits between parents and children to ensure safety.
• Conducting in-home visits to assess safety and track progress.
• Facilitating Child and Family Team Meetings with the family and supports.
• Testifying in court hearings regarding actions, findings, and procedures.
• Preparing detailed case documentation including intake, assessments, and logs.
• May include 24-hour on-call services as needed.
