Job summary

Utah Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) invites applications for Caseworker I or Social Service Worker – TAL Team. The position focuses on safeguarding children within families, offering supervision, interagency collaboration, and direct service delivery across multiple Southwest Region offices in St.

George, Cedar City, Richfield, Manti, Beaver, and Kanab. Role includes court testimony, detailed documentation, and potential 24-hour on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Four years of full‑time education OR professional work experience related to working with children, parents, and/or families, OR a combination of education and professional work experience.
• Possesses a current Utah driver's license.
• Experience in child welfare, social services, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigating reports of abuse, exploitation, and/or neglect; assess safety, risk, strengths, and barriers and determine actions.
• Work with families to create safety plans and ongoing services.
• Coordinate and refer services to children and families through community resources, providers, agencies, courts, and partners.
• Supervise visits between parents and children to ensure safety.
• Conduct in-home visits to assess safety and progress.
• Facilitate Child and Family Team Meetings with the family and supports.
• Testify in court hearings regarding actions, findings, procedures, and protocols.
• Prepare detailed case documentation (intake, investigations, safety assessments, service plans, court reports).
• May perform 24-hour on-call duties as needed; scheduling depends on location and agency demand.
