Responsibilities

• Investigate allegations of child abuse, neglect, and dependency.
• Meet with family members to determine merits of a report.
• Meet with school and medical staff to gather information.
• Complete detailed assessments from home visits and meetings.
• Create case plans addressing and correcting issues.
• Refer outside resources to support families and keep children safe.
• Enter case information into the computer.
• Complete court reports as needed.
• Provide testimony during administrative and judicial hearings.
• Work with law enforcement, schools, counselors, and shelters.
