Job summary

California-Tribal-Tanf-Partnership is seeking a Caseworker to interview participants and aid families in obtaining social services. The role involves creating and revising case plans to help clients reach self-sufficiency and following through with the plan.

The candidate will engage with participants to determine eligibility for cash assistance, document work hours, and coordinate with community resources. A California driver’s license and confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Equivalency and six months related experience and/or training.
• Current California driver's license.
• Knowledge of database software, word processing software and contact management systems.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a friendly manner and develop alternative solutions.
• Ability to work well in group problem solving situations and handle emotional topics.
• Ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Responsibilities

• Interview participants to determine eligibility for cash assistance and services.
• Identify barriers to self-sufficiency and provide tools to overcome them.
• Meet monthly for Monthly Eligibility Report and enter data into TAS system.
• Review work logs monthly to ensure compliance with work hours.
• Refer participants to community resources and other organizations.
• Compile records and prepare reports.
