Red Gold in Indiana is seeking an entry-level packaging operator responsible for operating case labeling lines, inspecting for proper labels and coding accuracy.

You will perform visual checks, ensure glue application, and monitor can quality while working with a team on a fast-paced line. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and basic reading/writing in English, with on-the-job training through shadowing experienced staff.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Visually inspect machinery to be sure all personnel and obstructions are clear
• Able to keep caser running and maintain speed of labeler
• Ensure cases are glued properly according to QA standards
• Operate the case coder
• Enter case codes and check for accuracy of code prior to applying to case.
• Check quality and accuracy of the code on the cases
• While in operation, inspect cans for bad and missing labels, correct codes, or dented cans
• Operator will turn off machine before attempting to correct can jams
• Operator will notify packaging mechanic or supervisor when mechanical issues happen
• Must be able to work as a team member

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma
• General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Effective eye/hand coordination is preferred
• Must have good visual acuity for machine/product inspection
• Must be able to read and write English
• On the job training includes shadowing an experienced operator

• Lift cases of product on/off line, up to 23-44 pounds
• Lift boxes of glue from skid, up to 50 pounds
• Carry boxes of glue from skid to line, up to 50 pounds
