Harlem Dowling-West Side Center for Children & Family Services is seeking a dedicated professional to supervise and support at-risk children and families. Your role will involve direct supervision, counseling, and coordination of services to prevent foster care placement.
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field and experience in social services. Comprehensive health benefits and generous paid time off are included.
Under the broad supervision of the Program Supervisor of the Central Harlem, Westside Center, Jamaica or Far Rockaway Preventive Services Program, this position is responsible for the direct supervision and monitoring of children and families who are deemed to be at risk of foster care placement in the communities of Central Harlem, Washington Heights, Jamaica, Far Rockaway and surrounding communities. The scope of these responsibilities includes, but is not limited to individual and family counseling, home visits, school visits, monitoring of medical, mental health and educational services.
The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field. Prior experience in child welfare or other social services, including day care, youth services or other related programs that involve direct work and contact with children and families. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Must be computer literate.
