Job summary

The Hershey Company in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Case Packer to support production with packing, sorting, and quality control. You will hand-pack foods for shipment and must follow safety and quality guidelines.

Starting pay is $22.15/hr with a $3/hr shift differential for 2nd shift. 8-hour shifts, 2nd shift M-F 3:00 pm–11:30 pm; 2 openings. Bi-weekly pay, overtime potential; 401(k) match and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency of the English language (read, write, and speak English).
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Knowledge of safety and quality regulations in a food manufacturing facility.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect product and manually pack bags into boxes for shipment.
• Weigh, record, and manage scrap popcorn; take to trash.
• Rework product as needed.
• Fill out paperwork accurately (verifications, sanitation, etc.).
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
• Perform shutdown, start-up, and changeover procedures.
• Build displays, prepare boxes, and pack popcorn for display or shipment.
• Maintain a clean, tidy work environment; sweep during downtime.
• Stand for long periods; work with leadership guidance; teamwork.

Job Summary

Our Case Packer is responsible for providing support to production including picking, packing, assembly, sorting, verification, and quality control. They will hand package food in displays or boxes to get shipments ready for shipment, delivery, and sales. They must follow all safety and quality guidelines. Case Packers complete all duties assigned by management and leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Visually inspect product and manually pack bags of product into boxes to get them ready for shipment
• Weighing, recording, and pushing totes of scrap popcorn and taking it to trash
• Rework product as needed.
• Fill out all paperwork completely, accurately, and timely (including first case verifications, changeover/sanitation paperwork, etc.)
• Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices
• Following all company policies and procedures including safety, environmental, quality, and housekeeping requirements
• Perform shutdown, start up, and changeover procedures.
• Building displays, folding boxes as they come onto and off of the production line, packing bags of popcorn into boxes, and putting bags of popcorn onto displays.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment including sweeping and cleaning the area during down time
• Standing for long periods of time throughout a shift
• Following the direction of the plant leadership
• Working in a team environment with integrity and commitment to the established processes and procedures and treat

Minimum Qualifications
