Qualifications

Annually serving over 1,400 youth and families, Lawrence Hall is a community-based organization committed to helping Chicago's youth, families, and communities heal from the adverse effects of childhood trauma. For more than 150 years, Lawrence Hall has been delivering high-quality care throughout the Chicago metropolitan area and is a statewide leader in highly effective, evidence-based, and innovative therapeutic treatment. Their core programs-Child and Family Treatment Center, Therapeutic Day School, Creative Therapies, Foster Care, Transitional/Independent Living Program, Workforce Development, and Community Wellness-have met the changing and complex needs of youth and families by not only becoming more community based, but also by developing more preventative programs that help curb violence in Chicago's communities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

In addition to the rewarding role of ensuring students have appropriate Individualized Education Plans, this role includes reintegration services. As the Reintegration Facilitator, you will help to identify students who are ready to transition back to their home schools. You will communicate with school personnel and support students through successful transitions.

  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, social workers, and district professionals to develop IEPs designed to promote the student's education, physical and social development.
  • Schedule, coordinate, facilitate and ensure legal compliance of IEP and triennial conferences.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data on progress towards IEP goals, triennial evaluations, and reintegration goals.
  • Conduct periodic follow-up with transitioned students to ensure long-term stability in a less restrictive environment.
  • Serves as the school's district and state testing coordinator
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with school personnel, students, families, and district personnel to facilitate effective collaboration that leads to student success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution or combination of experience and Bachelor's degree.
  • Current LBS1 teaching certificate from the State of Illinois or an out of state equivalent with the goal of securing Illinois certification.
  • No history of child abuse or neglect.

Compensation is determined by a set base salary for each position, with additional compensation considered based on relevant education and experience.
