Job summary

Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation in Nespelem, WA is seeking a Case Manager. This non-exempt role focuses on assessing client needs, developing and implementing Individual Development Plans, and coordinating services to help clients achieve self-sufficiency within tribal programs.

The position reports to the Case Manager Supervisor and is located at Employment and Training, Nespelem. Salary ranges hourly and DOE, with a benefit package including health, retirement, and leave.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Welfare Reform and workforce development.

POSITION: Case Manager

SALARY: $26.06-$30.21, per hour DOE

REPORTS TO: Case Manager Supervisor

LOCATION: Employment and Training, Nespelem, WA

Basic Functions

This is a Non-Exempt position. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Case Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing and implementing Individual Development Plans, and coordinating supportive services to assist clients with achieving self-sufficiency. The Case Manager will work closely with clients, Tribal agencies, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.

Qualifications
Education and Training

Typically requires an Associates’ degree in Social Services, Human Services, Business Administration or closely related field AND twenty-four (12) months of professional level experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires basic knowledge of Welfare Reform and Workforce development.
  • Requires knowledge of employment, training and workforce development including recruitment, training, and placement procedures.
  • Requires working knowledge of case management related to the unique challenges of the individual in need.
  • Requires basic knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; including receptionist, telephone techniques and etiquette.
  • Requires basic knowledge and understanding of methods and procedures used in alpha-numeric filing and record keeping.
  • Requires basic knowledge of data entry techniques.
  • Requires a working knowledge in the use of common personal computer-based office Software such as Google Suite including: (Drive, Sheets, Slides, Docs), spreadsheets, and internet.
  • Requires sufficient knowledge of English language, grammar spelling, and punctuation to prepare routine correspondence and internal memoranda.
  • Requires sufficient knowledge of maintaining accurate and detailed client records.
  • Requires sufficient knowledge of the process to prepare and submit reports as required by regulatory agencies or funding sources.
  • Requires basic skills to analyze information, resolve conflicts, and employ decision making.
  • Requires sufficient human relation and people management skills to greet and work cooperatively with others, inside and outside the department.
  • Requires familiarity with reservation lifestyles and culture as it relates to the clients served.
  • Requires the ability to perform the duties of the position under general supervision.
  • Requires the ability to understand and implement Federal Regulations.
  • Requires the ability to use a work computer for data entry, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Requires the ability to operate standard office machines.
  • Requires the ability to maintain record files and prepare reports.
  • Requires the ability to establish an effective working relationship and communication with population served, general public, policy makers, colleagues, and government representatives and convey a positive image of the Tribe.
  • Requires the ability to work with STIRCT confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to type operate office equipment; telephones, copiers, facsimile machine, typewriter, computers, calculators as required by position.
  • Requires the ability to understand verbal and written instruction, reports, and computer information.
  • Requires the ability to communicate objectives and guideline of program for prospective clients.
  • Requires the ability to address and resolve conflict in a timely and professional manner.
  • Requires the ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Requires the ability to interact with people.
  • Requires the ability to work under stressful situations and handle conflicts, complaints and other problems in a profession and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to function indoors engaged in work of primarily a sedentary, yet intermittently active nature.
  • Requires the use of near visual acuity to write and to read printed materials and computer screens.
  • Requires hearing and speech for ordinary and telephonic conversation and to hear sound prompts from equipment.
  • Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to retrieve work materials, intermittent walking, standing, stooping, and carrying and lifting of lightweight materials such as case files and similar materials (at minimum of 20 pounds).
  • Requires visual acuity sufficient to recognize people, words, and numbers.
  • Requires hand-eye-arm and finger dexterity to use a computer keyboard, ten-key, and other common office equipment.
  • Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to hear over phone and carry on complex, technical, sensitive, and confidential conversations.
  • Requires sufficient keyboarding skill to format and compose original correspondence onto specialized formats.
  • Requires driving in adverse weather conditions.
  • Requires occasional travel to multiple locations on and off the reservation.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
