Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, or related field preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interview newly admitted inmates/detainees.
• Conduct facility orientation for new inmates/detainees explaining rules and services.
• Provide individual counseling on work, housing, and family issues.
• Resolve day-to-day counseling problems and refer serious cases to professional staff.
• Monitor custody, housing, and program assignments for timely reviews.
• Conduct visits to inmates/detainees on caseload in special housing.
• Review inmate/detainee medical status to determine eligibility for work volunteer jobs.
