Responsibilities

  • Maintain ethical and professional communications with trauma-informed care.
  • Conduct crisis responses and coordinate with individuals at risk.
  • Perform life needs assessments considering individual, providers, law enforcement and others.
  • Provide skills training using evidence-based curriculum.
  • Maintain same-day/next-day documentation with high compliance.
  • Assist team during crisis situations and provide diversion-based services.
  • Conduct community follow-ups and assess safety, referrals as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with LEOs, facilities, staff and stakeholders.
  • Spend 50% of time with individuals in the Reset Diversion program and other crisis platforms.
  • Perform other essential functions and adhere to the code of conduct.

Texas Panhandle Centers is seeking a Diversion Center Case Manager (1425C) to deliver trauma-informed care, skills training, and recovery planning to adults (18+) across Amarillo and the surrounding service area. This role is ideal for human services graduates looking to gain direct clinical experience in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful trauma-informed care language.
  • Conduct crisis responses and coordinate with individuals at risk of experiencing a crisis episode.
  • Conduct comprehensive life needs assessments, considering needs as viewed by the individual, present service providers, law enforcement officer (LEO), and significant others in a timely manner.
  • Provide skills training using evidence-based curriculum.
  • Maintain same-day next-day documentation requirements and 95%+ compliance average for all individuals served.
  • Execute prudent action in emergency situations and assist team members when individuals need crisis response or other diversion-based services.
  • Conduct follow-ups in the community, assess for safety, complete mental health status exams, and provide appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with LEO's, in-patient facilities, TPC staff, and all other stakeholders.
  • Spend 50% of the time with individuals being served in the Reset Diversion program as well as other crisis platforms.
  • Perform other essential functions and tasks necessary to carry out the purposes of the position.
  • Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised.
Qualifications & Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related Human Services field (required for QMHP credentialing).
  • Work weekends and operate with a flexible work schedule to accommodate the needs of the Diversion Center program.
  • Participate in a 24/7 year-long rotating on-call schedule and respond in-person to on-call activations when needed, including holidays and weekends.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
  • At least 18 years of age.

Experience Level Tiering:
  • Case Manager I ($40,809.60/yr): Entry Level – No experience required.
  • Case Manager II ($43,305.60/yr): Minimum 1 year of behavioral health case management experience.
  • Case Manager III ($46,009.60/yr): Minimum 2 years of behavioral health case management experience.
  • Graduate-level coursework in a related field may substitute for up to 1 year of required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience working with justice-involved individuals.
