Job summary

Maximus is seeking a dedicated Case Manager for the OC CalWorks team in California. This on-site position supports families through the application process, ensuring program eligibility and access to essential services in Anaheim, Santa Ana, or Laguna Hills.

You will build strong client relationships, guide customers through benefits and services, and coordinate with team members to meet program objectives while traveling to alternate offices as needed during training.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 0-2 years experience or equivalent education/experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred or four years of experience in employment/human services
  • Willing to travel to Santa Ana/Laguna Hills during training and for occasional site visits

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and nurture professional relationships with customers and monitor engagement within the program
  • Collaborate with customers to set and accomplish program goals and maintain eligibility
  • Guide customers through the application process from enrollment to benefits allocation
  • Assist customers in accessing services such as education, medical care, childcare, transportation, mental health resources, and legal assistance
  • Document customer interactions accurately and maintain comprehensive records
  • Communicate updates on outreach and engagement to project staff

Maximus is seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our OC CalWorks team! This role is essential in fostering strong client relationships, ensuring compliance with program regulations, and assisting clients throughout the application process to access vital services.


The OC CalWorks Program is dedicated to assisting families in achieving self-sufficiency through comprehensive support services. We strive to empower individuals by providing resources, guidance, and a supportive environment.


**This is an on-site position, located in one of the offices in Anaheim, Santa Ana or Laguna Hills **

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and nurture professional relationships with customers, continuously monitoring their engagement and progress within the program
  • Regularly collaborate with customers to set and accomplish program goals, ensuring ongoing eligibility and program service maintenance
  • Demonstrate extensive program knowledge, guiding customers through various stages of the application process, from enrollment to benefit and service allocation
  • Assist customers in accessing essential services aligned with program objectives, including educational or vocational training, medical care, childcare, transportation, mental health resources, legal assistance, and other pertinent needs
  • Conduct follow-ups with customers to address needs, resolve concerns, and ensure their requirements are met satisfactorily
  • Collaborate with team members to provide expertise and support in resolving participant issues effectively
  • Maintain accurate and timely case documentation for all customer interactions, ensuring comprehensive records of activities
  • Share updates regarding outreach and engagement initiatives with project staff, facilitating effective communication
  • Identify and communicate barriers hindering customer engagement with the Provider, informing project staff promptly
  • Perform additional duties as directed by leadership to support program objectives

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required and 0-2 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field from an accredited college or university OR four (4) years of experience in employment services or human services in a public or private organization
  • A genuine passion for serving the community and making a positive impact
  • Comfortable using computers and standard office tools in day-to-day work
  • Enjoys collaborating with others and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Preferred bilingual languages (Spanish, Arabic and Farsi)- Willing to commit to 4 weeks of on-site training in our Anaheim office
  • Willing to travel to alternate offices in Santa Ana or Laguna Hills at least once per week during training period for job shadowing
