Job summary

Fresno Mission is seeking a compassionate Case Manager to walk with individuals and families through stability and transformation. You will conduct assessments, provide case management, and guide participants toward life skills such as finances, housing, and job readiness.

The role emphasizes evangelical ministry, weekly counseling, classroom facilitation, and collaborative work in a fast-paced, faith-based environment in Fresno, CA.

Qualifications

  • AA or higher in Drug/Alcohol or Social Work, or related field (CA).
  • SUD certification from CA required.
  • Genesis Process Relapse Prevention training or familiarity.
  • Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • Three years of experience serving the population.

Responsibilities

  • Guide participants to develop and maintain life skills to reach goals.
  • Conduct assessments to determine needs and help develop goals.
  • Provide guidance, resources, and referrals via case management.
  • Meet weekly to provide counseling and support.
  • Facilitate relapse prevention, parenting, finances, and job readiness classes.
  • Train new employees; schedule daily work and class assignments.
  • Conduct conflict resolution and de-escalation to maintain safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Vision of the Position:

The Searcy Center is a compassionate, and loving community that helps men, women, women with children, men with children and married couples facing life insecurity related to homelessness, abuse, addiction, and other traumas. Individuals enter the community with different backgrounds, but they all need someone they can trust as they walk through their journey of stability and transformation. Through the Fresno Mission’s “DTCR Model” offering Dignity, Time, Community and Relationship, our goal is to help people and restore them to what God designed them to be. The Case Manager serves in a key position role, walking alongside them as they work towards their goals in healing, spiritual, finance, housing and transformation.

What you’ll do (just the basics):
  • Guide students to develop and maintain the life skills necessary to obtain their goals.
  • Conduct assessments to determine students need and assist in developing goals.\
  • Provide guidance, resources, and referrals as necessary and assist through case management.
  • Meet with them on a weekly basis and provide counsel.
  • Facilitate classes in relapse prevention, parenting, finances, and job readiness.
  • Assist in training new employees. Schedule and coordinate daily work and classroom assignments for participants.
  • Conduct conflict resolution meetings.
  • De-escalate situations to keep community safe.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
  • An AA, Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) certification from the State of California, or higher in the areas of Drug and Alcohol, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Trained or familiar with the Genesis Process Relapse Prevention curriculum.
  • Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with the population we serve.
  • California Drivers License
Requirements

A mature walk with Jesus Christ and able to articulate Biblical beliefs and their application within the context of the Fresno Mission. All employees of Fresno Mission are an integral part of the outreach ministry of a non-denominational, evangelical ministry sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through transformational programs that provide food, shelter, clothing, education, job training and renewal of families to the poor and addicted. All employees are Christian missionaries and are required from time to time to participate in chapel services, outreach ministries, Bible studies and prayer times. Due to the nature of these types of ministries, it is an absolute necessity that each employee possesses and maintain a Christian testimony of their faith and experience in Jesus. Must agree with the Statement of Faith of the Fresno Mission.

  • Have a current/valid driver’s license. (License needs to be eligible for Fresno Mission insurance to drive company vehicles.
