Fortis Industries, Inc. DBA - LTS, Inc. seeks a Case Analyst to provide comprehensive legal case management support to the Civil Division of the Department of Justice.

The role requires experience with courts, court orders, and case progression from inception through trial and appeal. Excellent interpersonal and self‑control are essential. The position is fully onsite, reports to the Program Manager, and is pending funding.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or a B.A. degree required.
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent credential desired.
  • Experience in a legal environment with court proceedings preferred.
  • Ability to interpret dispositive case information and applications.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage frequent contact with client, attorneys and Civil Division personnel;
  • Train attorneys on case management system usage and modules.
  • Interview attorneys at multiple locations and maintain current case information.
  • Complete a minimum of 10 interviews per week and follow up within 10 business days.
  • Prepare and process Civil Division forms that dispose a stage or close a case.
  • Analyze reports for omissions or inconsistencies and recommend improvements.
  • Research case documents using Lexis to identify case information and events.
  • Enter data into the application/database and maintain weekly work reports.
  • Provide user support for CIMS and related modules, including training.

Job description

Case Analyst

This is a Case Analyst position providing comprehensive legal case management support to the Civil Division of the Department of Justice. The role requires demonstrated experience working with courts and legal proceedings, including the interpretation of court orders from case initiation through trial, appeal, and final resolution. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates professional maturity and strong self‑control when responding to challenging events and circumstances.

This role is fully onsite and will report to the Program Manager. This role is also pending funding.

Responsibilities
  • Manage frequent contact with the client, attorneys and other Civil Division personnel;
  • Train attorneys on how to use case management system and its associated modules and assist them with related functions;
  • Interview attorneys at multiple building locations and gather and maintain current, consistent and complete case information and make the necessary updates to the application/database;
  • Complete a minimum of 10 interviews/week and complete follow‑up actions within 10 business days of interviews
  • Prepare and process Civil Division forms that dispose a stage or close a case;
  • Analyze computer‑generated reports for omissions, inconsistencies, and anomalies in the data;
  • Recommend reports which identify omissions, inconsistencies and anomalies in data;
  • Research and analyze case documents and utilize tools such as Lexis to identify case information and interpret case events and case data;
  • Enter data into the application/database;
  • Maintain weekly work reports; and
  • Provide user support for CIMS and its associated modules, case tracking, and disposition and closure procedures, includes writing procedures and providing user training (one‑on‑one or group sessions).

  • Experience with courts and legal matters/cases from inception through trial, appeal, and resolution
  • Ability to interpret dispositive case information
  • Excellent written and effective oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of consistent and accurate application of rules and procedures
  • Flexibility to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to demonstrate history of professional maturity and self‑control in responding to events and circumstances
  • Ability to think proactively
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to details and follow‑up actions
  • Ability to identify problem areas and recommend corrective actions to improve processes and procedures
  • Willingness to take initiative to complete assignments beyond the minimal requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel; and
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills demonstrating ability to work and interact professionally with all levels of government personnel, colleagues, and other contractor personnel—interpersonal skills needed are friendliness and approachability, active listening, teamwork, conflict resolution, and verbal and non‑verbal communication.
