Job Summary:

As a member of the Youth Services team, the Case Aide assists the program by providing concrete support to children and families in foster care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists the program with following up on vital records for youth enrolled in the program
  2. Assists the team in printing, filing, and archiving documents of youth enrolled in the program
  3. Transports children/youth to appointments, parent child visits, interviews, agency trips, or school as assigned by the program manager
  4. Assist in the planning of program specific activities and events including holiday drives, youth trips, and events as needed
  5. Assists youth when they transition into their own apartments
  6. Helps facilitate the purchase of items for youth transitioning into independent living through discharge grants or other funds
  7. Actively participate in staff development opportunities
  8. Under the guidance of the supervisory team, document activities within Connections, one drive, or care4 database of youth activities and contacts

Requirements

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  1. Microsoft 365 proficiency
  2. Team player with strong planning, organizational and follow up skills
  3. Strong administrative skills such as filing, organization, maintenance of case records and logs.
  4. Detail oriented
  5. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  6. Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems
  7. Preferably knowledge of connections database

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred. HS Diploma required preferably with 1 year of experience working with children and family in the field of human services
  2. Valid NYS driver’s license required
  3. Due to the nature of the work environment work hours will vary including evenings and be based on needs of program
  4. Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned within the scope of position
