Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) in Brooklyn seeks a CASAC to provide direct group and individual counseling to program clients. The CASAC will work with case management staff and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement treatment plans for clients with history of substance abuse.

Location: Brooklyn. Schedule: Mon, Wed-Fri 9am-5pm; Tue 11am-7pm; 3rd Saturday monthly. Salary: $66,300. Exempt, not eligible for overtime.

Qualifications

• CASAC license or credential required.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Services strongly preferred; HS diploma acceptable.
• Three years’ experience treating clients with history of alcohol or substance abuse.
• Excellent interviewing and clinical assessment skills.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred; strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Windows, MS Office and internet tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess program clients with comprehensive evaluation for substance abuse history.
• Develop and update treatment/ISP plans with case management input.
• Write weekly progress notes.
• Facilitate group counseling sessions, including relapse prevention.
• Participate in quality assurance reviews as required.
• Plan and facilitate aftercare with community providers.
• Build relationships with community providers.
• Deliver training to staff on identifying and treating substance abuse.
