The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, to begin August 2027.

Area of Specialization (AOS): Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. Area of Competence (AOC): Open.

The department seeks an established scholar who will pursue a vigorous research program of a level commensurate with an AAU institution, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and take a full part in the normal activities of the department.

We welcome applications from candidates approaching artificial intelligence from a variety of subfields in philosophy.

Candidates working in more than one area of specialization are especially encouraged to apply.

A Ph.D. (or an equivalent terminal degree) in philosophy or a closely related field is required by the time of the appointment start date. Priority will be given to applications received by December 15.
