Job summary

IKEA in Renton, WA is seeking a Retail Carts Co-worker to ensure a positive shopping experience. You will load and unload carts, stock tools, support in returns and click & collect, and help maintain a clean loading area while upholding IKEA values.

The role offers a permanent, part-time to full-time schedule with shifts including evenings and weekends. A background check may be required. Benefits are available for eligible co-workers.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service within a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to work outdoors up to 50% of the time and flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient cart loading/unloading and keep the loading zone clean.
• Stock and maintain shopping tools (carts, bags, maps, twine) during store hours.
• Ensure tools are filled at closing to prepare for the next day.
• Monitor the condition of tools and report IT issues; remove unsafe stands or tools.
• Assist in FSHO, Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.
• Create positive customer experiences by ensuring accurate order handoffs.
• Contribute to IKEA culture and diversity in daily interactions.
• Be prepared for a background check as a condition of employment.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Carts Co-worker ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, you will:

• Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean by clearing away straps, excess carts, and cardboard.
• Ensure that all physical shopping tools, including carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, and twine, are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store during business hours.
• Ensure physical shopping tools are filled at closing.
• Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report any IT issues, and remove any physical stands or tools that are unsafe.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, escal…
• Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, Click & Collect as needed.
• When supporting in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.
• When supporting in Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.
• When supporting Click & Collect, create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff.

JOB TYPE – Permanent

HOURS - 20-34 hours per week /Benefits Eligible

SHIFTS – Fully open work schedule availability including evenings and weekends required; Work schedules are published one month in advance

The pay ratefor this role is $22.00/hour
